Originally, from a small town (Atwater) in rural Minnesota, I grew up on the family farm. I went to a small high school and competed in many sports such as football, basketball, and track & field.
While attending college at the University of Minnesota Duluth and studying for a degree in Exercise Science I got hooked on racing triathlons. My first ever race was the Lifetime Fitness Olympic distance race in 2008 in Minneapolis, MN. Since then, I have completed several sprint races and super sprint races while finishing at the top of my age group several times.
I moved to Arkansas in 2012 and completed my master’s degree in business. I was first introduced to the Triple Threat Racing team at the Trifest for MS back in 2014 and the following year I started working one on one with Shawn with the goal of becoming a professional triathlete.
