Brylee Gogel – Class of 2021
My name is Brylee Gogel. I am 13 years old. I compete in swimming, triathlons, and running events. I love being active because I get to meet new people and have fun. I have been swimming competitively for 7 years and I have been doing triathlons for 3 years.
I love spending time outdoors and having fun with my family. My parents both came from a long line of hard-working families. Both my mom and dad swam competitively year-round. I enjoy spending time with my dad camping and working on my shooting skills and I enjoy my down time going shopping with my mom and helping her around the house.
My accomplishments are a 2nd place finish at Youth Junior National Triathlon Championships in West Chester, OH in 2014 and a 6th place finish in 2015. A 1st place finish in the 1600 at the Arkansas Junior High track regionals in 2016. I am a two time Arkansas state cross country champion in 2013 and 2014. I have qualified for the state swimming championships every year since I was 8 years old. I have qualified for the 2016 Youth Junior Elite Triathlon National Championships.
I love competing in triathlons because you are not just working on one sport you are doing three different sports in one and it is the only multi-sport you can do this. I believe triathlons are one of the best sports and I could not be happier that I found TTR. My teammates can push me while we have fun at the same time.
My personal goals are to finish in the top 20 at Youth-Junior Elite Triathlon National Championships. I strive to push myself no matter what I am doing and not give up! One of my favorite quotes is, “you can’t put 80 percent into something and expect 100 percent in return.” – Dr. Chris Carr, Sports Psychologist.
